For owners and founders who want
the people side of the business to be theirs

FOR SMALL BUSINESSES IN THAILAND

Stuck on a people problem?
Borrow me.

A lot of the people I talk to are expats and solo founders running small businesses here — a software company, an entertainment venue, a gathering place, even a board game shop.

You built the business. Nobody built you an HR department, and you probably don't need a full one yet. What you need is someone who has done this before, for a few hours a month.

I'm an HR director you can borrow. I work in Thai and English.

Email me — first call is free
A 60-minute call, then a one-page summary within two working days. No pitch on that call.
WHAT YOU ACTUALLY GET

Not a consultant who shows up, writes a report nobody reads, and leaves an invoice. The arrangement is simple.

Borrow me by the month

ONGOING · CANCEL ANY MONTH

If you already have someone handling admin or people matters, I become their boss — without being on your payroll.

  • Two working sessions a month with you, or with whoever handles your people matters
  • Questions answered within one working day in between
  • I sit in on the decisions that carry weight — pay, restructuring, ending someone's employment
  • I take on three companies at a time, maximum

Or fix one specific thing

PROJECT · A FEW WEEKS

Some people borrow me once, for a job with a clear end.

  • Getting your employment paperwork right before it becomes a problem
  • Building a pay structure so you can explain every number to your team
  • Setting up your first proper HR system, and training the person who'll run it
WHAT I DON'T DO

Worth saying up front, because these are the four things people ask me for most and I'm not the right person for any of them.

  • Visas and work permits. I'm not an immigration agent. Happy to point you to one.
  • Finding you candidates. I'm not a recruitment agency. I'll help you decide who to hire, not source them.
  • Payroll processing and accounting. That's your accountant's job, and they're better at it.
  • Legal opinions. I work alongside your lawyer, not instead of them. I'll tell you when you need one.
THINGS PEOPLE ASK ME

Real questions I get from people running small businesses here.

  • “Is the employment contract I copied off the internet actually valid here?”
  • “I have twelve staff now. Am I supposed to have written work rules?”
  • “I need to let someone go. What's the right way to do it so it doesn't come back at me?”
  • “My Thai team never tells me when something is wrong. How do I fix that?”
  • “I'm about to hire my first admin or HR person. What should they actually be doing?”
  • “Two people doing the same job are on very different salaries and now they know.”

If your question isn't on this list, ask anyway. If it isn't something I'm good at, I'll say so and tell you who to talk to instead.

WHO I AM
Pakapak Sangkhasuntorn

Pakapak Sangkhasuntorn — seventeen years in HR. Half of that inside organisations of ten thousand people or more, half with companies growing from small to mid-size. What I do now is take the systems from the first kind and shrink them until they actually fit the second.

  • NOWHR Director at a fintech company preparing to list on the Thai stock exchange
  • 2017–2021Led a restructuring covering roughly 15,000 employees across three business units
  • REGIONBuilt HR systems in Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Indonesia
  • EDUCATIONMA, Human Resource Development · BA, Political Science
  • LANGUAGEI work in Thai and English. Based in Bangkok.

Working across the region is the part that tends to matter most to foreign owners — I've spent years explaining local employment practice to head offices that weren't local, which is close to what I'd be doing for you.

A free 60-minute call

Email me a couple of lines about your business and what's going wrong. We'll talk for an hour, and within two working days I'll send you a one-page summary: three things worth fixing first, and three you can handle yourself without hiring anyone.

There's no pitch on that call. If you read the summary and decide to do it all yourself, that's a good outcome — take it and go.
